iPad: Fayve wants to help you find something great to watch, whether it's on Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, iTunes, Crackle, or in theaters. It does this with an entertaining, almost addictive app that spins potential shows and movies in a never-ending carousel.
The free app offers a ton of categories to scroll through and will customize recommendations based on your ratings, Netflix queue, and Facebook likes (if you connect those services to the app). Tapping on a movie or show presents you with a description, Rotten Tomatoes score, similar movies, and other details.
Fayve was actually created for Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen as a personal tool to help him navigate his giant collection of movies and shows. It's now being shared for public use to all entertainment buffs.
While there are several other similar entertainment discovery apps, including previously mentioned Fanhattan, Fayve stands out for its unique interface. It's just fun to use. Windows 8 and Android apps are in the works.
