Remains of the Day: Google Apps Accounts No Longer Free For IndividualsGoogle Apps accounts are streamlined, Rumors say Microsoft is rushing the Surface RT tablet to other retail outlets, getting the new 27-inch iMac could take a while, and Samsung announces a hefty update for the Galaxy SIII.

  • Changes to Google Apps for Businesses Yesterday Google streamlined its Google Apps account offerings. Gone is the Google Apps Free Edition, which allowed users to add up to ten other users to their accounts. However, current Google Apps Free Edition users will not lose their accounts. Business users will have to switch to Google Apps For Business, which includes 24/7 phone support, 25GB inboxes, and no scheduled downtime for $50/user per year. [Google Enterprise Blog]
  • Microsoft Reportedly Moving Surface Into Additional Retail Stores 'Within Days' Presently, the only way to purchase a Surface RT tablet is directly through Microsoft: either at one of their retail locations or online. An extension to other retail outlets was tentatively scheduled for early 2013, but reports say that Microsoft is pushing that forward, and you may be able to buy the Surface elsewhere within days.   • 27-inch iMac Lovers Will Have to Wait Until January For Their Fix Ship dates for Apple's new 27-inch iMac are being pushed back until after the holidays. Customers who place an order are currently only seeing "January" under the estimated ship time. Those who ordered close to the iMac's initial presale date of November 30th , however, can still expect to receive theirs within the original 2-3 week window. [Ars Technica]
  • The Premium Suite Upgrade for GALAXY S III, Part 1 Samsung has announced that its Galaxy SIII will be getting a "Premium Suite" upgrade that introduces a large number of new features. Included are several contextual awareness functions like Page Buddy, which predicts what you want to do based on your actions?for example, plugging in earphones will launch your music player. Other enhancements include multiple on-screen windows, a Facebook lock ticker, and a reader mode. No word on when the update will go live, but more details are coming over the weekend.
